I
hear it very often that healthy eating is expensive and lots of people cannot
afford it. My latest Orchard project, the Beautifully Balanced Frozen Food from Tesco
Programme
proved it is not true. Healthy
eating can be even cheaper as junk food loaded with unhealthy preservatives and
additives. I tried lots of healthy ready meals from the Beautifully Balanced Frozen Food range and transformed lots of frozen vegetables and fruits into
delicious dishes. The Orchard at Tesco sent me money off coupons to help me
toward my healthy eating and coking journey.
It
is true, healthy eating means quite lot of time spent in the kitchen. There are
people who say, they never cook, because they cannot. It is a false answer,
everybody can cook. I started to spend more time in the kitchen only five years
ago and now I have a lifestyle blog, where I share my recipes and food
creations.
When
you are a beginner in the kitchen you should start with buying pre-prepared
frozen fruits and vegetables. I stock up usually from Tesco, because even the
Everyday Value range has perfect quality. There are some surprising, but
exciting, new additions including avocado, kale and mint. By freezing vegetable
at the peak of their freshness, they keep all that goodness locked in until you
are ready to cook - so in many cases, using frozen veg is actually healthier than
using ‘fresh’.
It
is good to have some frozen fruits and veggies in your freezer, because you can
use them any time. These do not contain any additives, preservatives or added
sugars and salts. Are healthier as conserves.
Here
are some tips for what can you use pre-prepared frozen vegetable and fruit with
no cooking experience:
I even make ice
cream from any frozen fruit and Greek yogurt in my food processor. Check my easy recipe!
You
can cook delicious and nutritious traditional soups from frozen peas.
Frozen
chopped parsley transforms plain cooked potatoes for an exciting side dish.
Try the micro veg
range as low carb side dish.
You can easily prepare traditional dishes as
farmhouse casseroles from frozen casserole or farmhouse mixes.
Buy some frozen button sprouts for Christmas, and prepare only the amount what you eat
for one meal. Stop food waste with Tesco frozen vegetable and fruit.
Okay, I know, we all
have very busy lifestyle. Tesco gives healthy alternatives on very good price
on non-cooking days.
These products are
perfect for people who do not like to cook, but would like to eat healthy.
Tesco Beautifully Balanced Frozen Food is full of flavours, not as plain as
other “healthy” meals. Tesco have paid extra attention to using fantastic
ingredients that ensure the unique character of each dish comes through in
strong, bold flavours. The dishes have perfect sizes – enough even for one
muscular man. Tesco wants us to eat healthy but do not limit the portions. Tesco Healthy Living Beautifully Balanced
range does not let us with a feeling we can still eat something, maybe a
chocolate bar.
Before my Orchard
project I was not aware about the Tesco Healthy Living Beautifully Balanced
ready meals. I have health conscious lifestyle so I do not like to eat in fast
food restaurants. I usually cook at home and have my lunchbox with me in work,
but sometimes I do not have enough time. Since I am in Tesco Healthy Living
Beautifully Balanced Orchard project I started to buy ready meals from this
range to fill my lunchbox.
Healthy Living
Beautifully Balanced range makes my life easier. These are healthy and
delicious ready meals with lots of protein and 2 of my 5 a day. On the other
side they are all low in sugar, fat and saturated fat.
I have found these
meals extremely delicious looking and beautifully colourful. Real food looks
better as artificial! I love even the green packages. These are very eye
catching and easy to find in the Tesco freezers.
I love the healthiness,
tastiness, wide variety, ethnic food variety, satisfying portions and good
prices.
Here are a few of my
favourites from the Tesco Beautifully Balanced range:
Tesco Healthy LivingLemon And Coriander Quinoa Mix – it is the perfect low carb side dish for me. It
is a vegetable mix with brown rice, cooked quinoa and coriander in a lime
dressing. Contains 54% mixed vegetables as Red Pepper, Yellow Pepper, Broccoli,
Soya Bean, Red Onion.
