Gluten Free Apple Pie

As an active member of The Orchard at Tesco panel I have got money off coupons to try the new farm brands from Tesco.
Apple season is nearly here so I started with an early apple pie. This is a gluten free and dairy free version.

Ingredients

To the pastry you will need:

-300g dairy free spread at room temperature
-Fry Light oil spray for greasing the baking tin

To the filling you will need:

Preparation

Start with the pastry.

Combine egg yolks; spread and caster sugar together with a wooden spoon.

Add the gluten free flour and mix in with your hands.

Put the pastry in the fridge – very important!
Do not be tempted to use more liquid ingredients - your pastry must be firm!

Peel, core and grate apples. Mix in caster sugar and cinnamon.

Grease the baking tin with oil spray.

Rub and push 2/3 of the pastry into the baking tin.

It is harder to work with gluten free ingredients and rolled pastry does not hold together. It is why I rub & push and use squares & pastry cutters later.

Spread the apple filling evenly.

Roll and square cut the remaining pastry. Make a nice pastry patchwork on the apple filling. You can use even pastry cutters.

Bake on 180 degree for 20-25 minutes or until lightly brown. Sprinkle with vanilla sugar when it is still hot.

I Am Unstoppable

My latest BzzCampaign was Compeed Blister Plasters where I have got two packs of blister plasters and samples to give away for free.

I am very satisfied with the product. It is water proof, has perfect shape and last on the place all day long. I carry with me one small box of Compeed Blister Plasters always in my handbag.

Compeed free blister plasters came in great time because I was before a big hiking holiday in Devon. I have bought new shoes for this occasion so I was a little bit afraid from painful blisters. I have very thin skin so it is normal to have blisters after wearing new shoes first time.

I wanted to prevent blisters so I used two pairs of thin socks on the first day. The weather was great so I wore only one pair of socks on the second day. Of course I had painful blisters on the evening. I started the third day with applying a pressure relieving pad, COMPEED Blister Plaster. Applying a COMPEED Blister Plaster helped me prevent further progression of the blister as the cushioning layer forms a barrier against friction. The patch contains hydrocolloid technology which creates an optimum environment for wound healing while instantly relieving pain. It’s also waterproof and helps protect the wound from harmful bacteria and dirt. I didn’t remove the pad too soon; I waited until it started to lift at the edges and then I gently and easily peeled it off in the bath.
I was very happy, because I had blisters but I couldn’t feel the pain. I can say Compeed saved my holiday. The healing process was very quick – I was able to start my working week in high heels.

Compeed blister plasters work perfectly. I often have blisters because my skin is very thin and sensitive.
I tend to prevent blisters with using Compeed Blister Plasters on the places (corners; under toes) where I usually have them. Sometimes the prevention does not work, because the rubbing is too hard (new shoes). My blister breaks open.so they can become infected and extremely painful. I do not deliberately burst the blister but if it does open I clean it with mild soapy water, soak it in a salt water footbath for 10 minutes and cover with a protective pad COMPEED BlisterPlaster.
Compeed Anti Blistersticks are very helpful as well. I advise you to use it every time before you wear new shoes.

Using hydrocolloid technology, COMPEED supports the natural moisture balance, to accelerate the healing process. COMPEED blister plasters stay in place longer and heal blisters faster than traditional plasters, whilst acting as a second skin.

BzzAgent sent me these brilliant Compeed products:

-COMPEED plaster Blister pack MEDIUM - absorbs moisture and forms a protective cushion, providing instant pain relief and optimum healing conditions for foot blisters

-COMPEED plaster Blister pack MIXED - the complete solution to foot blisters which can come in any shape and any size.

Compeed have even more great products, these are my  personal favourites:

-COMPEED Bunion Plasters – designed to fit discreetly around your foot for instant relief from pressure, helping you get back on your feet.

-COMPEED Corn Active Plasters - contain a special gel that relieves pain immediately and helps remove the corn

-COMPEED Cracked Heel Overnight Cream – daily moisturizing cream with magical urea

Try Compeed next time when you have some painful blisters and you can feel the difference on your own skin.

Memories from Hungary

We spent beautiful days by the Lake Balaton in Hungary. I love this big lake since my childhood. Visiting this beautiful lake was always the most enjoyable part of my summer holidays. We visit it not as often since we live in the UK but my enjoyment is as big as before.

I think we booked the best apartment –basically a holiday studio flat for two – via airbnb.co.uk website. Our hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful. The apartment is near the beach and the neighbourhood is quiet. We would spend the whole holiday on this single place but we had some cloudy and windy days too.

We visited the city centre in Siofok where is the small Kalman Imre Museum, who was an important Hungarian play writer and composer. I remember seeing his best play Csardaskiralyno nearly 10 years ago in Komaromi Jokai Theatre.

We visited the private Gallery Jordan which was an incredible enjoyment. There are lots of paintings for sale made by Peter Jordan and his daughter, Uncas. They are very talented and they do not squander their talent.

“Let’s go; see it; look it; feel it and buy if you think it is great, and belongs to your soul.” (Peter Jordan)

The Siofok Eye has a very pretty retro style. I loved it on first sight. I must hop on all of Eyes which I pass by.

We visited my hubby’s school town, Kaposvar. It is the home town of Ripl-Ronai, the famous Hungarian painter. His villa is a very interesting place with around 90 paintings.

Here are some more photos taken on the High Street of Kaposvar. I love creative displays!

Airbourne 2016

Airbourne was as fantastic today as usually. It is a real enjoyment for me. Eastbourne International Air Show is one of our must visit summer programs every year.

Here are some of my photos and video.

Freixenet ICE

I was one of 1000 lucky trndsters to get and share 3x Bottles of Freixenet ICE and 1x Freixenet ICE booklet with cocktail recipes. It is the best trnd project for long hot summer evenings. It is a real enjoyment even to think about it.

I love the project, because I like to have few drinks with my friends on summer evenings. We do not want to get drunk, just enjoy some tasty adult drinks. I love Freixenet ICE Cava because it is easy to use in cocktails and it makes me popular with my creations amongst my friends and family members.
I can imagine myself to drink Freixenet ICE during the winter months just to remember the taste of summer.

What is Freixenet ICE?

It is the newest and most refreshing way to drink cava.
The bubble experts at Freixenet have created a new and improved way to enjoy cava – served over ice with a sprig of mint. It’s the perfect drink for long and lazy summer with friends.

How is Freixenet ICE dry cava produced?

Produced using the same traditional method as Champagne, Freixenet ICE has a premium twist. The wine makers have mixed the cava to be richer, which balances the chill of the ice so that the taste of the wine is not diluted. Classic cava grapes have been blended with the Chardonnay grape for a richer consistency and slightly sweeter style, perfect to be enjoyed in a large wine glass over chunks of ice. The ageing process takes between one and five years.

So here is the easiest way to enjoy twisted and flavourful cava:
• Freixenet ICE
• 3 x chunky ice cubes
• 1 x sprig of mint

I love this dry and fruity cava with ice cubes. I love to enjoy its plain taste.
Freixenet ICE has really sweet but dry tasting notes: peaches, ripe pears, flowers and nuances of tropical fruits.
I really enjoyed the fresh fruit taste of Freixenet Ice Cava. The bubbles and the ice made it suitable for a garden party in the sunshine which is how I enjoyed it. The bottle just exudes good taste and elegance. The bottles look fresh and expensive. I love the white colour, it makes these bottles so unique. I am proud to have it on my guest’s table.

I love to try drink recipes from the trnd booklet:
The Garden of Eden:
Ingredients:
• Cucumber
• 20ml lemon juice
• 20ml apple juice
• 15ml of elderflower juice
• Freixenet ICE Cava
• Blend the fruit juices together in a shaker first then top up the glass with ICE Cava and garnish with cucumber.

Freixenet has lots of high quality tasty drinks. Freixenet ICE acts as the latest in a long line of delicious cava variations from Freixenet.
Cordon Negro is undoubtedly Freixenet’s most iconic and recognisable cava.
Cordon Rosado is the vibrant pink partner of Cordon Negro.

The award-wining Elyssia Gran Cuvée is a distinguished blend that combines the best regional varieties with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
